The 3rd Australian Biosecurity Symposium is making waves!
The Symposium will be held at SeaWorld Resort on the Gold Coast from 27-29 August 2024.
Our symposium tagline – Innovative, Immersive, Inclusive – embodies the essence of our event. We have crafted themes to facilitate abstract submissions and session planning, ensuring a diverse and enriching experience surrounding topics such as:
- Innovative thinking required to problem solve and develop solutions that will strengthen and transform the biosecurity system to ensure it maintains its stance as ‘fit-for-purpose’.
- Unique experiences, activities, campaigns and programs that have helped transform awareness, education and thinking to make Australia’s biosecurity system for the better.
- Non-traditional and traditional partnerships that are helping to cement Australia’s biosecurity system with a focus on including all aspects of our cultural landscape, with a specific focus on indigenous Australians, youth, minority and linguistically diverse groups.
We invite abstracts for presentations that promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas across the biosecurity spectrum – from agriculture (animals and plants) to wildlife, aquatics, humans, and the environment. As Australia’s premier biosecurity event, this symposium serves as the perfect platform to explore transformative approaches for Australia’s biosecurity systems that will safeguard our economy and food security, preserve our environment, and protect our way of life.
Abstract submissions close on Sunday 31 March 2024.
The previous Symposiums, held in 2019 and 2022, were a resounding success and Costa Georgiadis (TV personality, educator and Decade of Biosecurity ambassador) is back with his passion and energy to lead some thought-provoking sessions and inspire us all to be biosecurity champions.
