Protect Australia’s wildlife from a growing catastrophe
Australia is the extinction capital of the world – and feral cats are one of the deadliest forces driving it.
These relentless predators hunt day and night, wiping out our native wildlife at a scale that is almost impossible to comprehend.
Every single day, cats kill:
- Over 3.2 million mammals – including vulnerable species like the greater bilby
- Around 1.2 million birds – including the extremely rare night parrot
- More than 1.9 million reptiles – such as the great desert skink
That’s more than 2 billion animals lost every year. Gone.
Feral cats have already driven at least 25 native mammal species to extinction in Australia – and right now, at least 124 more species are teetering on the edge of the same fate.
This is not just a problem.
It’s a wildlife emergency.
And while political momentum is growing, it is nowhere near fast enough – or bold enough – to match the scale of the crisis.
Every day without strong national action means more bilbies, bandicoots and bush birds disappearing forever.
To stop this escalating disaster, we need stronger laws and stronger leadership.
We’re building the public pressure needed to ensure every state and territory allows the full suite of proven feral cat control tools, giving land managers and conservation teams the chance to finally drive down feral cat numbers and protect the species most at risk.
But governments will only act if the public demands it.
