How To Help | Take Action
Thanks to persistent campaigning, the federal government has committed almost $100 million to prepare Australia and our wildlife from the threat of deadly H5N1 bird flu.
Since 2021, bird flu has wiped out millions of birds and tens of thousands of mammals.
This funding is a game-changer. With $35.9 million of the package set aside to protect vulnerable wildlife and biodiversity, we now have a real chance to save iconic species like the Tasmanian devil, black swans and sea lions from potential extinction.
Never before in history has an environmental biosecurity issue been offered this level of funding for preparedness.
That’s why huge thanks are in order for two particular politicians who have shown great leadership to protect Australia from this looming national disaster: Agriculture Minister Julie Collins and Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek.
Now, we can expect real ambition from our government to protect wildlife across the country.
Help us gather hundreds of messages of support so they know how grateful we are for listening to our calls.
