Thank you for joining thousands of Australians who have signed up to fight fire ants! Our community is even stronger now you’ve become a part of it.
We’ve developed an info pack that you can use to raise awareness about what’s at stake if we allow fire ants to continue spreading across Australia.
We will continue to update the resources available in the pack so we have also emailed you a link to it for future reference.
The pack currently includes videos, photos, posters, a detailed fact sheet and a quick how to talk about fire ants guide as well as a presentation you can use in group environments.
Some ideas on where and how to use the resources in this pack:
- Talk to community and social groups you’re in about what would happen if fire ants suddenly broke out in your local area.
- Use the ‘How To Talk About Fire Ants’ guide to get your workplace involved with minimising the spread of fire ants and maximising the awareness of the threat they pose to Australian businesses.
- Pin up posters in community spaces like parks and libraries.
- Share what you’ve learned about the fire ant threat at school or uni.
- Post the Fire Ant Fighter sign-up link on social media (links below).
But ultimately this pack is really about equipping you with the information and resources you need to start getting creative! Make videos with the content we’ve provided, ask local cafes if you can put up a poster, talk to gardeners and landscapers about minimising the spread of high risk organic matter, raise funds for fire ant action and advocacy, teach people how to identify and report suspected fire ant activity.
In short, use this pack to help you protect Australia from fire ants by doing what you’re good at.
