Monthly giving. Lasting impact.
Please step up for our native animals today with a monthly gift.
This month brought gut wrenching news.
Australia’s governments have walked away from the fight to eradicate the tree-killing polyphagous shot-hole borer in Perth.
It’s a deadly failure for our native trees. Already, this tiny beetle has devastated thousands of trees across Perth – including native figs, paperbarks, hibiscuses, bankias, bloodwoods and sheoaks.
And there was more: fire ants have now been detected in a Central Queensland coal mine for the first time – a dangerous new front in their spread.
Frustratingly, we’ve seen this kind of story before. Dithering and delays, bad or wrong calls, too little too late or simply giving up too easily can put the whole country, our native animals, even our own back yards and local parks at risk.
It will take sustained pressure from you and I to ensure the governments commit to – and uphold – eradication and control efforts to keep these invaders from taking over – even when the going gets tough. That’s why your ongoing monthly gift is so important.
For just 80 cents a day, the cost of a cup of coffee a week – you can help protect our vulnerable wildlife, some of the most unique animals and plants on the planet, and defend our forests.
Your support is essential to:
✅ Keep invasive species on the government agenda
✅ Power long-term campaigns for eradication and control
✅ Help protect Australia’s wildlife from extinction
