Rob Brewster is the Rewilding Manager at Invasive Species Council, where he leads efforts to restore ecological function and resilience by reintroducing missing keystone species to Australian landscapes.
He has a particular interest in improving translocation efficiency and outcomes. Rob works closely with researchers and land management agencies to improve understanding of the drivers of fox and cat abundance, which are listed as key threatening processes to Australia’s ‘critical weight range’ (35g – 5.5kg) mammals.
Rob advocates for the development of novel approaches to invasive species management which improve effectiveness and target specificity, and for testing native predator interactions (e.g. the interaction between Tasmanian devils and cats) to support this process.
