Kathleen has a background in broadcast journalism and professional communications, spending five years as a newsreader and traffic reporter across VIC, NSW and SA.
In the corporate world, she spent time at the Victorian State Emergency Services (VICSES), Royal Women’s Hospital and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) as a Media Advisor. In this latter role, Kathleen focussed on STEM communications and preparing researchers for radio and TV appearances.
Kathleen also describes herself as a ‘chronic volunteer’, putting her hand up at the Pyjama Foundation, Werribee River Association, SYN Media and City Mission, as well as at Red Cross Lifeblood as a regular donor. Kathleen is a freelance painter and passionate about protecting Aussie biodiversity, spending time in nature and championing responsible pet ownership.
