Francesca Roncolato is the Senior Ecologist for the Rewilding Program, where she works to rewild threatened Australian species and trial innovative approaches to the management of invasive species.
With a background in Marine Science studying ecosystem services of oyster reefs, Francesca is passionate about restoring ecological function to oceans and landscapes through rewilding and nature based solutions.
Her expertise spans both practical fieldwork—including fauna surveys, habitat assessments, and the capture, transport, and release of threatened species—and strategic coordination. Francesca works closely with diverse stakeholders, including State and Federal government agencies, researchers, land managers and First Nations-led organisations, to achieve conservation outcomes.
Francesca works on the land of the Gadigal people.
