Claire is a seasoned environmental lawyer dedicated to applying her expertise for tangible environmental and conservation outcomes.
As a Senior Policy Analyst with Invasive Species Council, Claire uses her legal and scientific knowledge to generate policy interventions to address the critical threats posed by invasive species to Australia’s unique biodiversity, natural and cultural landscapes and communities.
Prior to joining Invasive Species Council, Claire managed the Tasmanian practice of a community legal centre that empowered communities to use the law to protect nature. Claire’s background also includes undertaking environmental prosecutions, litigation, investigations and policy development for a variety of government agencies in Queensland and Victoria.
An accomplished litigator, Claire has successfully represented clients in legal cases aimed at safeguarding World Heritage and National Heritage listed places, threatened species and ecological communities and Aboriginal cultural heritage from harm. Claire has also spearheaded campaigns advocating for more robust environmental laws and policies.
Claire holds Bachelor’s degrees in Law (Hons) and Environmental Science from Griffith University.
