Alexandra is a zoologist with a passion for invasive species management, wildlife monitoring, and science communication.
Alexandra spent most of her youth in Tullah, Tasmania, a small rural town in the heart of the wilderness. She recently completed her PhD in zoology, focusing on optimising camera-trap monitoring methods for feral cats. Her research spans terrestrial and aquatic systems, including work on invasive European carp, harmful algal blooms, and monitoring techniques for land vertebrates. Alexandra is a dedicated science communicator, regularly involved in public outreach and university teaching. She particularly enjoys engaging with biology students as a demonstrator, helping to spark curiosity and build confidence in the next generation of scientists. She currently works on the land of the Muwinina people.
