Susanne Meier is a highly experienced accountant who has worked in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.
Susanne grew up on a small farming property in the Scenic Rim in South-East Queensland.
The role of Treasurer caught her eye because she was aware of the existence of red fire ants on her parents’ property and keen to contribute to the work of the council raising awareness about the impacts of invasive species on the environment and agri-business.
After attaining a Bachelor of Business in Accounting at Queensland University of Technology, Susanne went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant. She Susanne worked in taxation and business services for ten years before moving into the not-for-profit sector.
Susanne has worked in senior financial roles for a variety of not-for-profit organisations in Melbourne including the National Gallery of Victoria, Netball Australia and Volunteering Victoria.
She previously served as the Treasurer for the Board of Museums Australia (Victoria). Susanne was elected to our Board in 2018.
