Graeme Hamilton, Vice President

Graeme Hamilton has a strong background in biosecurity, pest management and conservation having worked across government, not-for-profit and university sectors.

Graeme served for several years as Australia’s Chief Plant Protection Officer and in that role chaired the national Plant Health Committee that oversees national responses to plant pest and disease incursions. He was CEO of BirdLife Australia (formerly Birds Australia) for eight years and oversaw a strategic transformation from a research-focused organisation to a conservation-focused organisation. He has served as director of a statutory Research and Development Corporation and BirdLife International.
